In his first solo exhibition, Christopher James Wilson's “In Your Face” is an exploration of sexuality, voyeurism and expressionism through his natural ability to convey photorealism through oil paints and watercolor. In an exclusive press preview last night at the Deussen Global Loft in NYC, the New York artist (and former contributor to the Global Citizen Project series earlier this year) paintings' invasive approach plays with the idea of negative space – challenging viewers to a “stare off” that takes on the question of just how comfortable we all are in our own skin. The exhibition will run June 15th through the 26th (with its opening ceremony on the 17th) at the New Century Artists Gallery in Chelsea.
